Attacking midfielder Jacob Wellington is another retention from last season’s squad. The former Torquay academy player, who progressed into the Gulls' first team, is a highly skilled footballer who can take many positives from a full season playing in Southern League Premier South, securing our young player of the year award last season.

An emerging talent. I’m sure that testing himself at Step three will have been hugely beneficial for him going forward. Wellington is still a teenager and the nineteen-year-old will have learnt a lot from a challenging first season with the Yellows.
A campaign in which he starred against Honiton in the St Luke's Bowl when bagging a brace, scored the opener in our memorable league home win against Taunton and made 47 appearances for Asa Hall’s men in all competitions.
It was his displays for Willand in the 2024/25 season and Hall’s awareness of his talent whilst at Torquay, that saw him initially sign for the Yellows’.
Welcome back Jacob!
