Ball playing midfielder Ryan Keates will once again be plying his trade at the Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium, this term. He finished the season at Barnstaple, after being recruited from Willand by Asa Hall and Steve Orchard, back in November.

Acknowledged for his technical and energetic playing style, he is primarily an attacking midfielder. The 25 year old is a familiar face on the Devon football scene and he has also played for; Exmouth, Brixham and Buckland and in doing so has acquired plenty of experience in his senior career, so far.
When he caught up with the media team, he was keen to express his desire to become a regular starter this term, and for the team to develop more of a winning mentality and he commented;

“I really want to have a good season, get in the team, stay in the team and be positive. As a team we need to win more games than lose games. When I was here last season we didn’t do that as much as we would have liked. We need to try and put that right.”
He gave his reasons for continuing with the Yellows’ and on joining a dressing room that will have a few familiar faces, but one that has had a bit of a makeover since the previous season concluded and observed;
“It’s a massive club, I’m delighted to be here. I had a brief loan spell with Barnstaple, but it’s good to be back. I know the coaching team, their great football team. They know their stuff and that’s how things have materialised for me.
I obviously know the lads from last year and most of the new faces I know as well. I can’t wait to get going, I’m buzzing.”
A healthy and talented playing squad is being assembled for the new season.
Welcome back Ryan!
