Asa Hall's side looks for a match made in heaven as Gosport visit a dampened Mid Devon.

Tiverton Town (22nd) vs Gosport Borough (4th)

Saturday 14th of February | 15:00 Kick Off | Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium

Darren Holmes -

The chances of us seeing some football on home soil, lie very much in the balance at present. Tiverton has been saturated by the constant rain which has fallen over a long period of time and a few much drier day's will be needed for this game to not go the same way, as the recent postponements.

The Yellows’ will be very much hoping to host Hampshire opponent's Gosport Borough on Saturday, after they were edged out in West London by Uxbridge on the previous weekend. The Boro drew away at Chertsey. Both of those side's are vying for the play off's and Boro currently occupy fourth place.

Asa Hall and his management team of assistant manager Steve Orchard and First Team coach David Steele made Four changes for their last match. Two were enforced, but into the matchday Eleven came; goalkeeper John Ross, full back Corey Koerner, midfielder Jack Kennell and Forward Aiden Horne.

The presence of Karim Coulibaly in the last two squad's has been heartening to see. The youngster who has featured heavily for Sidmouth Town and our Under 18's this term, has broken into the England Colleges team and that is a notable achievement. An impressive display seeing him score a brace against Wales.

John Ross has waited patiently for his opportunity and gave a very good account of himself against Uxbridge.Jack Kennell and Corey Koerner also did well in West London.

Turning our attention to Gosport, back in mid October, the club appointed ex Dorchester boss Glenn Howes as manager in a restructuring of team affair’s. A tough tackling central midfielder in his playing day’s for Gosport, Howe’s has also taken charge of Totton.

Leading the way in the goal stake’s for the visitor’s is Twelve goal Ethan Taylor. The former Totton striker was with the Stags’ for almost Five campaign's and the strong marksman who started his senior career at his current team, has proven ability at this level. This has been has been apparent since his arrival in the off Season.

A match winner on his day is 26 year old Michael Fernandes. A goal scoring winger who once bagged a first half hat-trick against us for Swindon Supermarine, Fernandes is technically gifted. A little enigmatic at times, the former Colchester Pro and Farnborough man has found the net, Six times this term.

Trevor Caborn an impressive player for Winchester City in the previous Two season's, was another to put pen to paper in the summer, in signing for the Boro. The quick footed wideman/ forward has chipped in with Five goal's and has become a constant for the Privett Park side.

Another acquisition from Totton, striker Hisham Kasimu has 3 goals from 7 league matches. Farnborough and Enfield are also on the talented frontman's CV.

All action winger Brad Tarbuck played 3 times professionally for Portsmouth after coming through the ranks at Pompey. A crowd favourite, Tarbuck following a successful non league career with; Dartford, Havant & Waterlooville, Dorchester and Weymouth has been with Glenn Howe's side since the 2020/21 campaign.

Box to Box midfielder 26 year old Jordan N'Galo is back in the Southern League Premier South after a brief spell in the league above for Salisbury. The powerful, strong running central midfielder always stood out in his time with Dorchester and is much admired. N'Galo began his senior career with Weymouth when they were playing higher up the football pyramid.

Dan Wooden originally a striker, is 35 now and has seen most thing's at Gosport. Making his debut in the 2011/12 season's, he now plays as a midfielder. Wooden had a few campaign's at Moneyfield's, but in two spell's is into a Twelfth season for the away side. He has been an untold influence on his team in that time.

Charlie Wassmer is a central defender with real pedigree. The 34 year old has EFL experience behind him, at Crawley and Dagenham & Redbridge. His CV reads like a Who's who of non league clubs; Fleetwood & Cambridge United when they were in the Conference; Maidstone, Billericay, Hayes & Yeading, Woking, Hampton & Richmond are other's he has played for. This is his Third full season with the Boro.

Highly thought of Left Back Ben Greenwood made an appearance for Premier League Bournemouth in the 2022/23 season and the skilful defender, signed for Weymouth in the 2024/25 campaign after being released by the Cherries’. He is currently on loan from Farnborough.

Defender Joe Morrison has established himself this season. He was recruited from Beaconsfield, during their relegation season, in 2023/24. His first taste of senior football was with Woking.

Seasoned and commanding defender Adam Tomasso is one of a number of Player's to have moved from local rival's Totton this term. He brings a vast amount of knowhow to this Gosport dressing room and was also a pivotal performer for Winchester.

Current Number One Henry Blackledge is a Luton Town loanee. The highly regarded youngster has also spent time with Berkhamsted and Welling. Ex Torquay and QPR defender/ midfielder Joe Oastler has been announced as a new signing. Totton's former captain should be available for Saturday.

The Visitor's will provide a stern test for the Yellows’, however we are capable of causing an upset and cannot be discounted in this one. Let's get down to the ground on Saturday and get behind the lad's.
