Yellows’ sign rising talent, Hodge

It was a breakout season for young defender Finn Hodge at Bridgwater and his emergence caught the attention of lots of Southern League teams, during his first senior season. 

A standout performer in the Somerset side's campaign, he showed bundles of composure and maturity that belied being in his late teens. Recalling how things went for him and progressing higher up the footballing period.

In conversation with the media team, he observed;

“I gained a lot of experience in the Western Prem last season. Because before that I was in U18’s football, with no experience of adult football. That’s been good for me and obviously this is another level up.” 

Aside from his defensive qualities he is a threat further up the pitch. Hodge helped himself to a hat-trick for the western league side against St Austell. He previously worked with new director of football Lee Lashenko at Bristol Manor Farm, before following his manager to Bridgy.

The way he views himself as a footballer is this;

“I’m a versatile defender, usually a centre back playing at right back at the moment. I’m looking to bring good qualities and it will help with the players around me, to improve what I have.”

Continuing on from that, when asked about his personal aspirations in the game, he remarked;

“My ambitions are to play as high as I can as a young player. It’s a dream to play full time football, so if I put the work in, I’ll see where it takes me.”

Additionally the bright prospect was part of Bristol City's Robins Foundation where he was a recipient of the Player's player of year award, whilst with Manor Farm.

Coming across as a player who clearly loves his football and discussing the subject of playing at the Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium, he said;

“I can’t wait! It’s been a long pre-season. I just can’t wait to get back, playing. Obviously it’s a new club, new surroundings, it looks unbelievable. I couldn’t have asked for a better place really and yeah I’m just getting ready to go now.”
